Clubs YOU Should Start at Your Community College

The easiest way to absolutely transform your community college experience? Clubs. As I always say, you get out what you put into your CC experience so, put yourself out there! Whether you're looking for common clubs that may already be on your campus or ideas for fresh ones that YOU could take the initiative to start, this comprehensive list of clubs ranging from academic to recreational is here for you.

Honors and Scholarship Based Clubs

If you want to celebrate outstanding academic achievement and support fellow high-achieving students, consider starting one of these resume-ready clubs:

• Honors Transfer Club

This club helps honors CC students in preparing to transfer to a 4-year university. In tandem with your CC honors program, you can organize workshops on application tips, host guest speakers from universities, and create honors-specific study groups.

• Alpha Gamma Sigma (A.G.S.)

A.G.S. is a well-known honor society for California community colleges. Starting a chapter can motivate students to maintain high GPAs and participate in community service each semester.

• Phi Theta Kappa

This international honor society recognizes academic excellence in community colleges. PTK notoriously offers large scholarships, leadership opportunities, and networking events.
